March’s Prize is LUNCH with PRINCIPAL EDWARDS for the Top Contributor of Box Tops in each Grade – DEADLINE MAR 30!

January’s Prize was an Ice Cream Gift Card for the top contributor in each grade – winners pictured below. We are counting Box Tops now to determine February winners: Teacher release from lunch duty for the class with the most Box Tops in each grade.

Look for products with Box Tops like the following:
Chex, Betty Crocker, Gold Medal, Avery Labels, Bisquick, Reynolds, Ziploc, and Pillsbury.

Simply send Box Tops to school with your student in a Ziploc bag with their name and class section and they will turn it into the collection box in the office.

SCREENAGERS MOVIE - Tomorrow Tues. Mar 21

Thank You Book Fair Volunteers

A HUGE Thank You to Sherilyn Fox and Kendra Kilpatrick. They did an amazing job decorating, organizing and working the book fair.

Thank you also to parent volunteers who helped decorate, run cashiers, assist shoppers, serve muffins, coffee and juice. It was a wonderful book fair enjoyed by all the students and their guests.

Book Fair is quickly approaching and we have plenty of volunteer opportunities!

DCE Spring Book Fair March 6th – 10th

Help promote a love of reading and raise money for our school at the DCE Happy Camper Book Fair.

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN!

Set up and take down. Scholastic drops off the books and picks them up, but the PTO makes it all happen inside the library.

Decorating – if you know how to use tape and glue, you can help!

Purchase your child’s framed original Art to proudly display in your home or office. In addition, a percentage of the sales goes directly to supporting your child’s School Art Program.

Gifts for the Family
You may also order color reproductions at the Art Show. A framed reproduction of your child’s Art is an amazing, personalized gift for friends, grandparents, or other family members.

Ways to Purchase
Attend the school’s Art Show and purchase the framing package for your child’s Art. If you cannot attend the Show or would like to skip the check-out lines, you may pre-pay by sending cash or a check to your child’s Homeroom teacher, made payable to your school.

NOMINATE A DCE Staff Member to be a Red & Black Superstar!

Red & Black Super Star is a program started by the Coppell Education Foundation to recognize elementary and middle school students and CISD employees.

NEXT SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS FRIDAY, MARCH 3rd!!

  • Elementary school parents can submit nominations at the end of each 9-week grading period for any CISD staff member on their elementary school campus they feel deserves recognition.
  • This could be for going above and beyond for a student or co-worker, ability to inspire, dedication to their profession and/or commitment to mentoring students or colleagues.
  • At the end of each grading period, at every elementary school, one to two CISD employees will be selected from all the nominations to receive a Red & Black Super Star award.

Sizing 5th Grade and Pink Teacher shirts have the same sizing as last year. For all others – sizing runs smaller than last year’s shirt. Please size up.

Scouting for Food - THIS SATURDAY!

Denton Creek’s Cub Scout Pack 857 needs your help – and so do thousands of hungry people in our community.

Our Scouts are participating in the annual Scouting for Food drive. The 2017 food drive will take place this Saturday, February 11, where Scouts will collect the donated items from their assigned territory. Food donated will be distributed to our local food pantries.

If you would like to donate, please leave nonperishable food items and/or baby items such as diapers, formula or food on your door stop and the Scouts can pick it up this Saturday morning, February 11.

CISD is now offering the salad bar in the lunchroom three days per week.

We need volunteers for the Salad Bar during Kindergarten and 1st Grade Lunch periods on Tuesdays and also help restocking it on Wednesdays and Thursdays for 2nd-5th grade lunch periods.

Boosterthon's Email re: Credit Card Payments

Due to a system update, Boosterthon was unable to process scheduled credit card payments submitted January 6 through January 19th. This only affects those sponsors that entered their credit card information at the time of a per lap pledge.

Sponsors will receive an e-mail to make them aware of the issue while providing them another opportunity to pay for their pledge.

We apologize for this inconvenience, and ask that you PLEASE advise sponsors to proceed with reprocessing their payment. THANK YOU!
